Originally aired as the opening theme for the Fuji TV anime Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo for two years starting in 1997, Kohei Dojima’s beloved “Katsushika Rhapsody” is finally receiving its long-awaited first analog release. The release date, September 21, 2026, marks exactly 50 years since the serialization of Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo began. In addition, 2026 also commemorates the 30th anniversary of the anime adaptation, and with a new anime project recently announced, this release stands out as a key item celebrating this milestone year.
Originally released on May 1, 1997, as an 8cm CD (catalog number: CODA-1199), this enduring classic has been brought back to life in vibrant form on vinyl.
