The scenery in memory is now colored again.
Across the ages, the same light shines on that day.

記憶の中の風景が、いま再び色づく。
時代を越えて、あの日と同じ光が差している。

Hiroshi Nagai has now become one of Japan's leading illustrators. The many visuals he has drawn, including the jacket work of "A LONG VACATION" (Eiichi Otaki), whose name is unwavering, evoke the seasons and a sense of liberation at a glance with vivid colors and clear air. I have the power to do it.

Its unique style is formed as if surrealism and pop art intersect based on original experiences such as a 40-day trip to the United States experienced in the early 1970s and the landscape of palm trees lined up in front of the station in my hometown. I am doing.

This collection of works "Now and Then" is a collection of illustrations for magazines that have not been well known so far and a group of newly unseeed works that have been excavated. From the early works that seem to trap the air of the times to the expression in recent years that have become more mature, it is a content that can trace how the "memory of that summer" has changed and has continued to exist.

Every time you turn the page, what appears is a somewhat nostalgic, yet ideal landscape that does not exist in reality. The world drawn by Hiroshi Nagai, which has been engraved in the memories of people at home and abroad, regardless of generation, stands up vividly again in this book while going back and forth between the "past (Then)" and "Now)".

Yox, who works on many of Hiroshi Nagai's works, is also in charge of book design this time. The minimalist and sophisticated bookwork highlights the transparency and beauty of the margins of Nagai's works, further deepening the sense of immersion in the world of works.
