This is the second album released by Samba Carioca—a group that evolved from Kiyoshi Hasegawa’s “Regular Session”—after it changed its name to Carioca.Having truly excelled in Brazilian music—particularly samba and bossa nova—they have absorbed and assimilated a wider range of elements, including jazz, pop, and rock.We are trying out a new approach to create a crossover sound that’s even more accessible.In addition to the five original members, guest performers included Shuichi “Ponta” Murakami (ds), Kenji Omura (g), Yuki Inui (kyd), Shigeharu Mukai (tb), Jake H. Conception (sax), and Bread & Butter (cho). The set also featured covers of songs by Ivan Lins.
We are based in Chicago, IL, roughly one mile northwest of Wrigley Field. All orders ship from our Chicago HQ. We do not have a physical storefront, but frequently table in-person events and conventions.
