Raging heat, bursting passion. Here is the "raw" Fukui Ryo that no one knows. A
completely unreleased live recording that was the catalyst for the creation of "Mellow Dream." Who would have thought that Fukui Ryo had left behind such a recording? This is a completely unreleased live recording recorded on June 8, 1977.
The recording was made at the Sapporo live house "Bidoro" by Masataka Ito, the producer who worked on Fukui's "Scenery" and "Mellow Dream." This is a performance of the Fukui Trio from that period, but at the same time, it has an overwhelming energy and freshness not found in studio recordings, making it extremely exciting. Needless to say, the brilliant 16-minute "Mellow Dream" is a masterpiece, with the dynamic "Speak Low," the lustrous "Body & Soul," the driving "Love For Sale," the profound "Mr. PC," and the gushing "My Foolish Heart" all contributing to a feverish, overwhelming performance. At the time, an excerpt from this live performance was approved by Trio Records headquarters, leading to the production of their second album, "Mellow Dream." This is a precious recording in every sense.
